Two Concerts Added: Jan 30 and Feb 8

Symphony Irvine is very pleased to announce two new concert dates for 2015: Friday, January 30 at St. Dominic Savio Church in Bellflower, CA and Sunday, February 8 at the Irvine Civic Center. Both performances will feature the same program, which includes the Concerto for Two Harps and Orchestra by Emmy Award-winning composer Lucas Cantor. The performance of the concerto on January 30 will be the work's world premier. The soloists are Jacqueline Marshall and Zoƫ Godfrey, and the orchestra will be conducted by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Dean Anderson.

The concert at St Dominic Savio Church will have special meaning for the parishioners of the church: it will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of St. John Bosco, a 19th century Italian Roman Catholic priest who dedicated his life to improving the lives of disadvantaged youth. In honor of this commemoration, the orchestra will perform three hymns in tribute to the saint.
