Summer is here...

(but fall is around the corner)

The coming of fall heralds the start of the 2017-18 Symphony Irvine season, which officially gets under way on Sunday, September 17 at 4pm with a concert at the Bill Medley Auditorium (Santa Ana High School).

Guest conductor Binh Vu will lead the orchestra in music by Mozart and Beethoven, including Mozart’s familiar Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, in which the orchestra will be joined by musicians from Santa Ana High School, and Mozart's Piano Concerto No.21 in C featuring pianist Jungwon Jin. (Click the photos on the right to see biographies.)

Other favorites scheduled during the rest of the season include Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, music from Tchaikovsky’s ballet, Swan Lake, and much, much more.

The season will culminate in June with a performance of Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 6 as part of the annual OC Mahler Festival.
